Meet the Panelists

  • Patrick McDougall, Todd & Sargent, Structural Engineer: Patrick graduated from Iowa State University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and has since worked as a Structural Engineer in Training at Todd & Sargent in Ames, Iowa. He specializes in the structural design of agricultural industrial facilities including grain storages, feed mills, flour mills, and more. Patrick has worked on over a dozen different ag facilities in a dozen different states and provinces across the US and Canada.
  • Mattea Miller, Feed Energy, Research Engineer: Mattea Miller graduated from ISU in May 2024 with both a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s of Business Administration. Since then, she has been working in Des Moines for Feed Energy doing research and development.
  • Andrew Jesus, Collins Aerospace, System Engineering Intern: Andrew is a senior from Omaha, NE, graduating in December with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in Computer Science at ISU. Andrew has worked for Collins Aerospace since 2022, starting as a Systems Engineering Co-Op in Richardson, Texas followed by stints back in Texas and in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. During the school year he works part time from the Collins Aerospace site in Ames, along with being a photojournalist for the Iowa State Daily.
  • Taylor Renze, John Deere, Validation Engineer: Taylor graduated from ISU in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Biomedical Engineering. She worked as a part time student for Deere during her time at Iowa State for 1.5 years, doing both design engineering and test engineering. She currently works on a team dedicated to updating the drive experience within all large agriculture machinery. Her role consists of installing hardware and software on customer machines, ensuring there are no software bugs upon customer usage, and gathering customer insights to help create better products for farmers.
