We can counsel College of Engineering student organizations as you design and implement PreK-12 outreach efforts that are effective, inclusive, and safe. Areas where we can offer guidance include:

Coordinate with on campus offices
- Office of Risk Management regarding Youth Program Registration via CyCheck
- University Event Authorization
Help you identify schools around the state of Iowa for your programs
Include your programs in our quarterly newsletter
Invite your organization to participate in on-campus outreach events

STEM Fest Opportunities

Inspire future Cyclone Engineers by sharing the incredible work and innovation your student organization does at on campus events. Please sign up your student organization to host a table during the STEM Fest at each of the following events:

Saturday, January 17, 2026 – Future City (Program by the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering)
- Grades 6th to 8th
- Approximately 300 youth and 200 spectators
- 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Tentative Location: Student Innovation Center
Saturday, February 7, 2026 – FIRST LEGO League Challenge State Championship and FIRST LEGO League Explore Ames Expo
- Grades 2nd to 8th
- Approximately 500 youth and 2,000+ spectators
- 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Tentative Location: Student Innovation Center
Saturday, April 11, 2026 – Science Olympiad State Tournament
- Grades 6th to 12th
- Approximately 500 youth and 850+ spectators
- Tentative Location: Student Innovation Center
