A: Teams must be registered for the season with FIRST prior to registering for a Qualifier or Expo event. Coaches will receive a welcome email from engineeringoutreach@iastate.edu that will contain the link to the event registration portal. Teams registered prior to August 5 will receive the email after the official season kickoff (Tuesday, August 5, 11 AM CST). For all other teams, within 3-5 days of teams registering on the FIRST Dashboard.

A: We will start assigning events on October 16 and communicate assignments via email to coaches. Registrations received after that date will continue on a first-come, first-served basis until events reach their capacity.
Yes, every youth and coach who attends a qualifier will need to have a completed consent and release form for Iowa State University. Youth will need to have a parent or guardian fill out the ISU Youth Consent Form on their behalf.
Adult coaches and volunteers at qualifiers and expos will need to complete an online ISU Volunteer Service Agreement.
ChatGPT and AI can be used for helping generate program code or Innovation Project content. In fact, we should highly encourage our participants to use this technology, within standards, as another tool in the toolbox for students to use. We also want to promote responsible use, which includes attribution so that if/when students use systems like ChatGPT that they give credit.
Robot Game scores can be found via FIRST Event Hub Leaderboard. Links to the Event Hub Leaderboard by event are shared in each event’s calendar page.
All coaches listed on your FIRST Dashboard roster as having completed YPP training will receive an email from FIRST Event Hub with a personalized invitation and link to view the site. You will need to respond to this invitation within 72 hours of receipt.
