Application Process

If you have all your supporting documentation (listed in Step 2 below) and are ready to pay the non-refundable application fee, you can apply directly for full admission through the ISU Admissions website. We recommend you contact your program of interest for details on application due dates.

Step 1

Proceed to the ISU Admissions website, create an account, and complete the free pre-application.

You will be asked to provide your profile, grades, area of interest, undergraduate major and institution, 500-word statement of purpose, and a few other basic items.

Your department of interest will then review your file within 2-3 weeks, and if preliminarily qualified, recommend you move forward to Step 2.

Step 2

Complete the full application, which requires letters of recommendation, transcripts, English proficiency scores (for international applicants), application fee*, and statement of purpose so that the department can make a detailed review of your credentials.

*The nonrefundable application fee for domestic students (U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, refugees, asylees, DACA or undocumented) is $60. The nonrefundable application fee for international applicants is $100.
