CoE Award for Mid-Career Achievement in Research

Purpose

To recognize faculty members who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in research and/or creative activity at the mid-career stage.

Eligibility and Criteria

9-16 years professional experience after PhD, min 3 years at ISU. Significant portion of work being considered must have been done at ISU CoE. Winners of University mid career research awards not eligible to apply. Must be ISU employees at the time of convocation (award ceremony).

Documented evidence of exemplary research/creative accomplishments and impact of their work on their discipline as evaluated by peers and experts in their field. Significant national and international recognition in the academic community. Evidence of a positive impact of their mentorship and/or teaching on undergraduate students, graduate students and/or postdoctoral associates. The candidates will be judged by the body of their work since their terminal degree.

Submission Requirements

  1. Nomination cover page (includes statement by department chair regarding PRS splits), summary statement on how candidate’s accomplishments compare to norms in discipline and career stage;
  2. CoE format Vita;
  3. Statement of accomplishment and impact of research and mentorship of students/post-docs (up to 4 pages);
  4. Three letters from peers (no more than one from within ISU);
