CoE Award for Early Achievement in Research

Purpose

To recognize a faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in research and/or creative activity unusually early in his or her professional career.

Eligibility and Criteria

Less than 9 years of professional experience after PhD; and at least 2 years at ISU. Winners of University early career research award not eligible to apply. Must be ISU employees at the time of convocation (award ceremony).

Documented evidence of exemplary research/creative accomplishments as evaluated by peers and experts in their field. National and/or international recognition in the academic community. Evidence of a positive impact of their research/creative activity on their discipline. The candidates will be judged by the body of their work since their terminal degree, with an emphasis on work done at ISU.

Submission Requirements

Please combine documents into a single PDF file before submission.

  1. Nomination cover page (includes statement by department chair regarding PRS splits), summary statement on how candidate’s accomplishments compare to norms in discipline and career stage;
  2. CoE format Vita;
  3. Statement of accomplishment and impact of research (up to 2 pages);
  4. Three letters from peers (no more than one from within ISU);
