Information

I have been teaching Mechanics of Materials (E M 324) at Iowa State since Fall 2012. In the past I have also taught Statics (E M 274), Dynamics (E M 345), and Introduction to Aircraft Performance and Design (Aer E 261). I am currently teaching Flight Structures Analysis (Aer E 321) as well as E M 324.

I grew up in a small town in north central Iowa. I earned my BS in Engineering Science and a minor in Mathematics from Iowa State University and my MS in Engineering Mechanics from Michigan State University. I worked for Delphi (steering gears and halfshafts/CV joints), Eaton (superchargers), and John Deere (cottonpickers).

I play cello in the Central Iowa Symphony. I play clarinet in the Ames Municipal Band and ISU Alumni Bands. I also like to play piano, canoe, hike, bicycle, play basketball, play volleyball, travel, and learn new things.

I enjoy supporting students’ extracurricular pursuits as well as their academic success.
