About Iowa State

Town Engineering Building is where the Department of Civil, Construction, and Computer Engineering is housed.

Iowa State’s College of Engineering is ranked among the top 38 engineering programs and top 10 largest engineering schools in the United States. The campus is one of the United States’ most beautiful (American Association of Landscape Architects, 1999).

The university offers world-class research facilities, hands-on learning, research opportunities for undergraduate students, and more. It is located in Ames, Iowa—a small urban town in the heart of the country named the 2nd most livable small city in the nation (New Rating Guide to Life in America’s Small Cities, 2002). You can bike to class during the day and to world-class cultural events at night.
