Tour Leader Description

This is a volunteer position that leads and coordinates weekly engineering tours. The tour leader is responsible for managing a group of peers, as well as ensuring guests receive a positive tour experience. This includes, but is not limited to, training other tour guides, scheduling and assigning tour stops,  communicating needs to the student organization advisor(s) and identifying ways to continuously improve tours.

Tour Leader Expectations

  • Ability to give a full tour without assistance
  • Appoint another qualified student to lead the tour if you are to be absent
  • Be an active leader that is willing to give instruction to guides and provide feedback
  • Encourage all guides on your day to learn the whole tour by checking them off and challenging them to learn new stops
  • Communicate with members of your day at least once per week
  • Make each tour guide on your day feel like a valued team member
