				n Brittle describes the material if %El < 5% n Brittle materials will usually exhibit different strengths in tension and compression n Suc – ultimate compressive strength n If Suc and Sut are not close in value the material is called n Suc is typically >> Sut n If Suc and Sut are close in value the material is called even
	n Ductility is measured in % Elongation of test material n %El =100* (lf – lo)/lo n lf = length of test specimen at fracture n lo = original length of test specimen n If %El >=5%, material is ductile
