Information

Dr. Sayani Maity is an Assistant Teaching Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at Iowa State University. Prior to joining ISU, she was an Assistant Professor and Director of Systems Engineering at the University of North Dakota (2021-2023). She completed her Ph.D. in 2020 from Iowa State University in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Controls Systems and Robotics. She completed her Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2011 from Jalpaiguri Goverment Engineering College, India. She received her Master’s degree with specialization in Nuclear Engineering from Jadavpur University, India in 2014. In her current role, Dr. Maity teaches various courses in Mechanical Engineering department such as  Engineering graphics and introductory design, Mechanical Engineering problem solving wiith computer applications, System dynamics and Control. Dr. Maity’s research interests lies in the field of Robotics, Modeling and Controls. In her free time she enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
