Get to know the talented students who are dedicated problem solvers and demonstrate exceptional teamwork \u2013 CtrlAltDefeat! This West Des Moines team represented Iowa at the FLL Challenge World Festival in Houston, Texas; this was their first time competing against teams throughout the world. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

To prepare for this exciting event, coaches Jude and Summer say that their team \u201cfine-tuned their robot, optimized their AI model, and refined their presentation skills.\u201d They also practiced with mock judging sessions. \u201cAs coaches, it\u2019s an honor to see their hard work pay off with an invitation to such a prestigious event. It\u2019s exciting, a little nerve-wracking, but ultimately a huge validation of everything they\u2019ve accomplished this season.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Something that makes CtrlAltDefeat unique is their team culture. Whether it\u2019s upholding the team tradition of going to their local Culver\u2019s after every competition or laughing at an inside joke, building strong bonds with each other is an essential value of theirs.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Team members looked forward to competing on a global stage for the first time. \u201cWe are most excited to meet teams from all over the world and be able to learn from them! It\u2019s amazing to see the different ideas, strategies, and cultures that each team brings to the competition,\u201d they say.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

CtrlAltDefeat plans on continuing to be a part of FIRST <\/em>LEGO League in the future. They hope to compete at the World Festival again and even have their sights set on winning! They also plan on continuing to inspire others to join FLL. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

This team\u2019s vast improvements over the season make them a force to be reckoned with \u2013 meet CtrlAltDefeat. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
