FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a youth program aimed to excite young learners in grades preK-8 in the areas of science, engineering, and technology. Since 2001, Iowa State has enabled youth to access and participate in FIRST LEGO League programs in Iowa.

The Challenge State Championship is the culmination of the 2025-2026 UNEARTHED season. Teams participated in statewide Qualifiers from November 2025 to January 2026, with sixty-one (61) advancing teams showcasing their Innovation Project, Robot Design and Game, and Core Values. We look forward to seeing these teams’ incredible work and celebrating all they have learned and their progress.

This event is open to the public and requires no registration. Judging sessions are for team members, two (2) coaches, and a maximum of fifteen (15) spectators for that team. Please see the schedule below for more event information.
