The campus is one of the United States\u2019 most beautiful (American Association of Landscape Architects, 1999).<\/p>\n<p>The university offers world-class research facilities, hands-on learning, research opportunities for undergraduate students,  and more. It is located in Ames, Iowa\u2014a small urban town in the heart  of the country named the 2nd most livable small city in the nation (New Rating Guide to Life in America\u2019s Small Cities, 2002).
