Dual Master’s Degree Programs

The program enables students to earn two master’s degrees, one from the home institution and one from Iowa State University (ISU). Students successfully complete the curricular requirements at home institute for the first year towards a master’s degree and then transfer to ISU during the second year to complete the master’s degree requirements for both schools. Course work and research credits from the home institution are transferred to ISU and vice versa. The courses and research work performed at the two institutions are evaluated by each school and must meet the respective requirements to award the degrees.

Actual time to ISU degrees will depend on progress made by the candidate.

Students are responsible for paying ISU tuition.

Duration: 1 year at home institution, 1 year at ISU

• Students may receive two master’s degree, one from each school.
• Student complete first one year of course work and research requirements at home institution.
• In the second year, students complete the remaining course work and research requirements at ISU.
• Credits are transferred between the home institution and ISU.
• Each school awards a master’s degree when the degree requirements are met.
• Students are responsible for paying ISU tuition.
• Students may compete for fellowship at ISU.
