The Mechanical Engineering Design Expo highlights the work of students in the ME sophomore and senior design courses.
ME sophomores are challenged to design products that meet the societal needs of developing economies. Past designs have included off-the-grid light sources, water pumps, grain grinders, portable human-powered generators, and low-cost prosthetics.
ME Senior Design teams are matched with industry sponsors or organizations to develop solutions for real-world design problems. Students use current design practices to meet their clients’ needs.
Sophomores will present their projects in the Sukup Atrium from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Seniors will display their designs in the Howe Hall Atrium from noon to 3 p.m.
The Expo is free and open to the public.
