The Gulf of America Division, located in U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) Region 4, is part of the EPA Great Water Body program that collaborates to protect, maintain, and restore the health and productivity of the Gulf of America consistent with the economic well-being of the region. EPA’s actions are designed to support improved water quality; to enhance, restore and/or protect natural habitats; and to improve the region’s ability to withstand storm events. This notice announces the availability of funds and solicits applications to improve water quality and/or Gulf habitat through nutrient reduction and/or mitigation of harmful algal blooms (“HABs”), including Sargassum Inundation Events, via demonstration projects that are enhanced by innovative technology. Applications must align with the Administration’s “Powering the Great American Comeback” initiative and align with EPA statutory authorities. Activities must take place in the Gulf of America watershed within the contiguous United States.

The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for research reduce barriers to a Clinical Data Ecosystem for Genomics (CDEG) by establishing a network to identify, share, and improve approaches for clinical integration and sharing of genome sequencing data and their interpretation as structured data among labs, health care providers, and patients. Specifically, the Network will: 1) establish a pilot ecosystem that demonstrates best practices for the sharing of genomic structured data (GSD) across different health care settings, including primary care; 2) create standardized application programming interfaces (APIs) to support access to such data; 3) develop open-source clinical software applications and databases that utilize these APIs; 4) demonstrate the ability of the pilot ecosystem to overcome barriers to accessing patient genomic data as patients travel across healthcare systems; and 5) refine and develop these practices into implementation resources for broader sharing and adoption. Applications are not being solicited at this time. Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. This NOFO will utilize the U01 activity code. Investigators with expertise and insights into this area of genomic medicine and implementation science are encouraged to begin to consider applying for this new NOFO. In addition, collaborative investigations combining expertise in computational genomics and data science, electronic health records (EHR), genomic data standards, cloud and database development, health information exchange, and implementing genomics in clinical care will be encouraged and these investigators should also begin considering applying for this application.

This announcement constitutes a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) under FAR 6.102(d)(2) and FAR 35.016. This announcement is open for one year and will be advertised annually. NAVFAC EXWC provides research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) to deliver specialized facility, ocean system, and expeditionary solutions to the warfighter. The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Outreach Program’s goal is to: Increase STEM awareness and proficiency among K-12 and college students to enhance the number of U.S. scientists and engineers capable of solving future missile defense challenges in the government, industry, and academia.

MDA STEM’s participation in this initiative aligns with the MDA efforts to develop and foster an engaged STEM talent pool. By making these proactive investments, MDA STEM strengthens and broadens the STEM competent talent pool across the education continuum to support future workforce needs.

The MDA STEM Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology (BEST) Robotics Grants provide a means for official Local Competition Hubs, to obtain financial support for upgrading the robotics kits, in accordance with the BEST Inc. guidance for the 2025 or 2026 competition season.
