It facilitates valuable networking with industry professionals, potentially leading to mentorship opportunities. This firsthand experience helps students refine career goals and acquire practical skills for a smooth transition into the engineering workforce. The ISU Research Park has a job shadow board to explore. Additionally, Engineering Career Services collaborates with Iowa-based employers to provide three job shadow opportunities a year: one during winter break, one during spring break, and one at the beginning of summer break.
