Step 9: Sign Employment Contract and Celebrate

Most employers will require an employment contract to be signed. The contract will specify the terms and conditions of the employment relationship. It should document your salary, benefits package, and start date. If a signing bonus and/or relocation package is being offered, it will also stipulate the repayment requirements if you terminate your employment early (before a certain date). The contract may contain nondisclosure and noncompete clauses. Do not sign this document until you are ready to commit to working for the company. You must be prepared to stop your job search and reject any future offers you may receive. Once the employment contract is signed and returned, it is time to celebrate with your friends and family.
