First Year Mentor Program – Each incoming PhD student of color is invited to participate in our mentoring program. You would choose a more senior PhD student as well as a faculty/staff member as your two mentors.

ISU McNair Program – The program is designed to increase the number of underrepresented, low-income, and first-generation students obtaining a Ph.D.

LEAD Program and Learning Community – The Leadership through Engineering Academic Diversity (LEAD) Program provides various programs and services to assist in the academic, professional, and social success and retention of multicultural and women students in the College of Engineering and at Iowa State University.

LSAMP IINSPIRE Program – The Iowa Illinois Nebraska STEM Partnership for Innovation in Research and Education (IINSPIRE) is an NSF LSAMP alliance among 16 two-year and four-year colleges and universities working together to broaden the participation of underrepresented minorities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education the Midwest.  In particular addressing the need to remove the barriers impeding student progress and success in STEM fields before education and workforce disparities widen.
