What is the Classification Office?
Many people ask, what is the Classification Office. In short, we are part of the College of Engineering’s Student Engagement unit who assist students, advisors, faculty and staff with any academic needs a student may encounter once they begin their undergraduate degree program in the College of Engineering at Iowa State University.
Students first interaction with the classification crew is at orientation in the registration room. Some of the reasons you may come visit us is to declare a minor, declare a second major, add or drop a course, or request to be concurrently enrolled to name a few.
