Not So Sweet Dreams

The objects around us go through a journey just as much as we do in life.  And the destination at the end of life’s path is unknown with obstacles and challenges along the way.  Materials used within this piece tell a story about the journey traveled.  A hairpin, sponge rollers, earrings and hair are all objects found along the path of a young woman. This piece has portrayed the challenges involving the life of a pillow.  As we rest our heads on our pillows as night, the immediate feeling of relief overtakes our minds and bodies.  This pillow on the other hand, makes the feeling of relief turn to fright.  Anxiety when looking at this pillow is the last emotion that should be present when wanting to relax.  Not So Sweet Dreams is ultimately the result in laying your head on a pillow coated with twigs.  This journey is not what anyone has intended for in their lives.
