The Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI Design Area at Iowa State focuses specifically on analog and mixed-signal VLSI (very large scale integration) design, and its faculty members bring extensive academic experience, broad industrial experience, and continued professional interactions into a center that relies heavily on industrial direction and support. VLSI is the integration of thousands of transistors in a single chip; mixed-signal VLSI design is the design of both analog and mixed-signal circuits on the same chip.
