Dean Mark J. Kushner has announced the appointment of Professor Derrick Rollins as assistant dean for diversity for the College of Engineering. In this role, Rollins will coordinate, advance, and expand diversity activities at both student and faculty levels. He will also work toward raising the national visibility of the college as a destination of choice for diverse students, faculty, and staff.
Rollins joined the Iowa State faculty in 1990, accepting a unique joint appointment between the statistics department in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Department of Chemical Engineering, now the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE). He will retain joint appointments in statistics and CBE while he fills his half-time appointment as assistant dean.
