Matt Kieffer, a graduate student in mechanical engineering at Iowa State, is presenting a web seminar, “BioChar and Beyond,” on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, 10 a.m. It’s aimed at anyone interested in bioenergy and renewable energy, including extension educators, professors, state agencies, federal personnel, teachers, college students, and bioenergy industry personnel. It’s part of the The Bioenergy Friday Web Seminar series, sponsored by the University of Nebraska Lincoln Extension and eXtension.org farm energy community of practice.
Kieffer’s studies focus on bioenergy. He, along with two fellow Iowa State students, have started a biorenewable business. Kieffer will discuss biochar, which is created during the conversion of biomass into fuels and chemicals, from production to end product and its uses and applications worldwide.
