Researchers affiliated with the Computational Fluid Dynamics Center participate in a wide range of research projects. Many of these advance the state-of-the-art in computational techniques for solving the conservation equations governing complex fluid flows arising in a wide range of engineering applications in the aerospace, chemical, and mechanical engineering fields. Other projects involve use of such techniques to better understand flow details that crucially influence design decisions. The Center also develops and administers interdisciplinary course offerings in fluid dynamics.
