Engineering Computing Support Services (ECSS) is a college-level unit reporting to the Dean of Engineering that:

  • Provides strategic and visionary direction for College of Engineering IT services related to learning, discovery, engagement, and leadership.

  • Coordinates computing support across the eight departments of the College of Engineering in conjunction with departmental IT support personnel.

  • Administers all computing resources for the administrative offices of the college including the Dean's Office, Alumni Relations, Career Services, Undergraduate Programs, and Development.

  • Administers college-wide services such as compute servers, domain controllers, multi-platform file sharing, print sharing, groupware services, email services, multi-homed web services, database services, streaming media conversion and services, security, application distribution, backups and restores.

  • Trains and mentors students in professional systems administration in the areas of UNIX (Linux, Solaris) and Windows desktop/server.
