Iowa State University College of Engineering

Iowa State University has been educating engineers since 1858.  There were four civil and two mechanical engineers in the institution’s first graduating class, which was comprised of 26 students.  Today, the College of Engineering typically awards over 800 undergraduate and 250 graduate degrees annually.  These students have 15 different engineering majors and eight specialty minors.

Iowa State produces some of the best engineering talent in the nation and the demand for ISU engineers has remained at a high level.  Both small and large companies in Iowa and nationwide heavily recruit Iowa State engineers.  Students make employment decisions based on a wide variety of reasons, which may include the type of work, company growth potential, compensation, and location.  Our goal is to present our students and alumni with as many employment opportunities as possible, which increases the potential for a great match between the company’s needs and the student’s interests.

We welcome all companies who have engineering-related opportunities to post positions, attend our career fairs, conduct on-campus interviews, and host information sessions.  Please contact Engineering Career Services if you have any questions.
