Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Minor


The NDE Minor at Iowa State University is a unique opportunity to get a multi-disciplinary engineering qualification in the rapidly emerging field of Nondestructive Evaluation.

Below is the current list of approved courses for the minor, totaling 16 required credits.  These can be selected from the courses listed; you can take courses in various NDE disciplines and still qualify for this important minor.

MatE/EM 362L Nondestructive Testing Laboratory (1Cr.-Spring)
NDE Specific courses (2 needed for at least 6 credits)
EM 350 Introduction to Nondestructive Evaluation Engineering (3Cr.-Spring)
Mat E/EE 488 Eddy Current Nondestructive Evaluation (3Cr.-Alt. Fall)
Any 490 that is investigating an approved NDE Topic (e.g., AerE/EE/EM/MatE/ME)
