  1. EPS (Encapsulated PostScript file)

    EPS files are vector graphics created in Adobe Illustrator and saved with a tiff preview so they will display properly when used in a word processing software such as MS Word or a pagination software such as InDesign. EPS vector graphics can be enlarged and still retain a smooth resolution. Note: Without the proper software you may not be able to open the design element, but you do not need to open it to place it, and resize it in a document.

  2. PNG (Portable Network Graphics file)

    PNG is a raster graphics file format and is used as a lossless image compression format on the internet. PNG also supports images with or without alpha channel (transparent background).

  3. JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group file)

    JPEGs typically use a lossy form of compression which makes it popular for the web, where the amount of data used is important. The lossy compression method does reduce image quality, so it may not suitable for printing purposes.
